One of our own Sandwich Artists, Thomasene Sam, from Store # 26516 in Killeen, TX, won the worldwide title of Sub Jammer 2005, along with a check for $3,000, at this year’s convention in Honolulu, Hawaii. She IS the fastest sandwich maker in the world! Thomasene’s raw time, before deductions, was 31 seconds. After deductions, she finished with a total time of 43 seconds! Thomasene has been with Subway for nine years. She is the proud mother of 6 children. In her “spare time”, she enjoys doubling as a hairdresser. Thomasene’s fiance, Steve, accompanied her to the convention in Hawaii. He was there to cheer her on to the winning title.

There were over 80 contestants in the Sub Jammer contest, including our founder, Fred DeLuca, himself! Fred’s raw time was 1 minute, 20 seconds. After he finished, he collapsed to the floor and said, “that is hard work!”
